Wealleans Expertise Assists Chilean Agriculture

The application of fertilisers crucial to agricultural operations in Chile sees groundspreading equipment designed by Wealleans Engineering and Mechanical Ltd hard at work.

Custom spreading hoppers

Two custom built spreading hoppers designed and manufactured by Wealleans Engineering and Mechanical Ltd have been purchased by Chilean groundspreading company Sanblas Spreading. The two six tonne hoppers were designed, built and painted by Wealleans Engineering and Mechanical Ltd staff at the Hinuera based workshop in the Waikato region and will be fitted to trucks in Chile upon their arrival. Wealleans Engineering and Mechanical Ltd General Manager, Ted Usmar, handles the final fitting of the hoppers to their chassis on the ground in Chile.

"It should take about three days to finish fitting each hopper to each chassis; which includes the installation and setup of the computer components, testing of the equipment and providing advice to the purchaser."

The two hoppers were fitted into a 40 foot, high cube, shipping container at the Wealleans Engineering and Mechanical Ltd workshop and will take approximately 6 weeks to arrive in Chile.

The consignment to Chile is one of a number of exports that Wealleans makes each year which sees Wealleans designed equipment in use in Chile and Australia, with further export opportunities being explored in Vietnam.
